Caught in the ACTS

Nowadays, many apocalyptic movies depicting the end of the world are produced. Since the dawn of this millennium, over 100 of such movies have been produced, raking in several billions of dollars in revenue for the entertainment industry. The question is: How true are these versions of the history of the future? Well, as it is popularly said, “Opinions are like noses and everyone has one.” There is, nonetheless, one sure source of reference that shows us the beginning and the end: the Bible. You may call it God’s opinion on what is to come.

We are living in a day and time which is very dark and chances of many obtaining mercy are reducing by the day. There is very limited time but the opportunity to repent and receive remission of sins is still available to you. Jesus Christ has come into this world a first time as a man to save men from their sins. He will return soon, not to offer salvation but to judge the world. He says, “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” (Matthew 24:42).

To watch means to be alert. Consider for a moment: If Jesus were to return this moment, what would you want Him to come and meet you doing? Your answer to that question should form the basis of your alertness. In other words, let that be your default state. For example, someone may say, “I want to be helping the poor when Jesus comes.” Question: Are you helping the poor right now? You don’t know when He is coming but you are expecting Him soon so why don’t you focus on what He has instructed you to do while you are anticipating His return? You see, many who claim to be expecting Him betray their own words with their lax way of living and doing things. Here are four ACTS the Master should catch you doing when He returns:

Awake to Righteousness
Jesus said, “Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” (Mark 13:35-37).

Copy Jesus
Jesus said, “…Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19)

Tell the Gospel to the Untold
Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

Serve in Love
Jesus said, “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me…Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matthew 25:35-36, 40)

Remember that salvation is not guaranteed by these works, for we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). However, we are created in Christ Jesus unto good works (Ephesians 2:10), and so as you eagerly expect the return of the Lord Jesus Christ, zealously fulfil these acts, for there is a great reward for you: “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” (Revelation 22:12).

Always Victorious

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14).

There’s a reason the Church is the most persecuted of the demographics in the world: Satan is afraid of what’s coming, and he’s making so much effort to cause fear in the hearts of many. But he’s a failure. Mighty things are happening in the Church of Jesus Christ, and the devil can’t contain it. What’s happening with us is bigger than what’s happening in Technology, Science, or Politics.

In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said, “…I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The word, “Gates” is symbolic in prophetic language for “power and dominion.” So, the powers of hell, the dominion of hell, shall not prevail against the Church.

The Church, right from inception, has survived and endured many terrible persecutions, and will always out-live her detractors. That’s because the Word of God is clear: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:35-37).

We’re forever victorious. We crush every opposition and conquer every adversity. That’s the blessing upon the Church. The Holy Spirit is the Boss of the Church, and He’s God. He’s working in, with, and through us. It’s impossible for us to fail. We won before we started; we’re just acting out the script that’s already been written. Hallelujah!

The Amplified version of our theme verse says, “But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory….” That’s what’s happening. We’re in a Holy Ghost victory parade. What you need is to stay focused on the work of the Lord, serving Him with joy. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION:

I’m a member of the glorious and triumphant body of Christ. Therefore, I’m indestructible; no matter what happens, I win, because the Word puts me over and guarantees my victory. Greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. I reign and rule with Christ, now and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:

Romans 8:37-39 (KJV)
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 4:4 (KJV)
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (KJV)
57 But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Fresh Air

You’re as a gust of fresh air

The fragrance of your Presence is Heaven to me

For you enrapture me
In such glory
In such beauty
In such bliss
In such awe
that cannot be compared at all

O, Sweet Holy Spirit!

How refreshing is your whisper

In my heart

That lush voice! 😩
So gentle
So lovely
So reassuring

Ministering peace to me

In the midst of turmoil and great tribulation

All the chaos is smouldered at the sight of your invisible aura

“The wind bloweth where it listeth”

You’re as a gust of fresh air
The fragrance of your Presence is Heaven to me!

Unlocking the Miraculous through Faith and Prayer

Many years ago, a region of the American Midwest had been stricken by drought. There was a small town there that was totally dependent upon farming, and the crops were dying in the fields because of the lack of rain. A day of prayer and fasting was declared in which all the townspeople would come in from their surrounding farms and spend the day in prayer, asking God to send rain.

That morning a five-year-old girl came along with her parents to their church to pray. Some people were amused as this little girl was carrying an umbrella. They asked her why. She replied that she thought they had come there that day to pray for rain, and she didn’t want to get wet going home.

Suddenly conviction gripped their hearts. The people realized that they had come to pray, but no one but this little girl actually believed anything was going to change! In tears, they repented of their unbelief; and these same townspeople began to pray that day as though they really believed their prayers were going to change things.

About four o’clock that afternoon, clouds began to form on the western sky. By evening, a slow, soaking rain had begun to fall across the region. The heavens had literally opened for these people. This slow rain lasted for three days and nights. Their crops were saved, and they eventually had one of the biggest harvests that they had ever seen! Everyone remembered that it was the little girl with her umbrella who had come to pray and had changed their hearts from a place of religious duty bound with unbelief to a place of expectancy that God would in fact hear and act.

We must believe and expect God’s best blessings whenever!

I just wanna be HOT!

A Psalm of Consecration, Dedication & Separation

I don’t wanna be cold…

No no no no

I don’t wanna be lukewarm

No no no no

I just wanna be HOT!

Yes, HOT!

Full of the FIRE of the Holy Ghost

Fervent in Spirit

Walking in the Light of His Word

And piercing through the darkness

I wanna shine brightly for God

With the Truth of His Word

Walking in His Glory

Showing forth His Praise

No no no no

No more cold

No no no no

No more lukewarmness

I don’t wanna be spewed

Out of the mouth of the I AM

I wanna be ONLY HOT!

Blazing HOT like the Sun

Yes, the Son of Righteousness!
