He preordained your paths

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live] (Ephesians 2:10 AMPC).

As a Christian, God prepared your path, the path in life that you should follow. Predestination is at work in you. Take a moment to think about what we read in our opening verse; it’s so sublime: we were recreated in Christ Jesus, for good works which God planned beforehand for us, taking paths which He

This simply means that your life is set on a course. You’re not an accident. There’re those who are on a path that’s different from the path that God prearranged for them. They live in the wrong house, in the wrong city, they went to the wrong school, they have the wrong friends. Some are in the wrong job or business; they have the wrong associates and are in the wrong associations in life. They’re not aware that God has a special path prepared for them; so, they’re toiling and struggling through life.

Everyone has a definite path that he’s supposed to follow, and if you don’t know, you’d think life is just according to impulses. For example, perhaps after your graduation from the university, you opted to do a second degree; the question is, why?

Maybe it’s because your parents said so; maybe you just liked the idea of acquiring a second degree, or maybe you saw your friends going for it and you decided to get on the bandwagon. But did you ever ask God whether or not that was consistent with His plan and purpose for your life?

Most people never bother to find out God’s plan for their lives let alone see to it that they fulfil it. But that’s the greatest thing in your life- discovering God’s purpose and fulfilling it. Be wise and know that you need to talk to God about what you should do, the direction you should go, because everything God wants you to achieve in life has been pre-ordained.

If you want the best from God, if you want to live in His perfect will, you’ve got to walk in the path He prearranged for you, and it’s a path of righteousness, great glory, greatness and unending victories. Glory to God!

Predestination is at work in me. My life has a purpose with God, for He leads me by His Spirit in the paths that He prearranged for me. Everything I’ll ever require to fulfil all that God has called me to do is available in superabundance. I’m led in the paths of success, victory and unending prosperity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Romans 8:29-30
29 – For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 – Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Ephesians 1:11
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will

Extracts from EXTRACTION

Starring Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Extraction is a Netflix movie plotting the events that took place in a span of two days (and eight months) in India and a little bit in Australia. Here’s a brief overview of the movie.

Tyler (Chris Hemsworth) is a mercenary who has been recruited on a mission to rescue the teenage son of an Indian gangster, who’s in jail. The boy, Ovi, was kidnapped behind a club, after disobeying his uncle’s orders not to go anywhere after school. Tyler locates the boy and rescues him from the hands of some really bloodthirsty rascals. He’s on his way to the point of extraction but there’s trouble on board the boat serving as their getaway vehicle.

Ovi’s uncle, an ex-special forces soldier named Saju, who himself called on the extraction team to rescue the boy, double-crossed them by not making the due payment. He slaughters those on board the boat together with the sniper watching out for Tyler and the boy. There’s chaos looming as Amir, the rival gangster of Ovi’s dad, calls for a lockdown of Mumbai, the capital of India. Saju and the police get into hot pursuit of Tyler, which he escapes with the boy, but not without a brutal battle of bullets and fists.

Tyler is commanded to ditch the boy as the mission has been compromised. But he just wouldn’t! Through many fights, blood, sweat and tears, Tyler, Saju and Ovi got to safety at the bridge which was the opening scene for the movie. However, Saju gets sprayed with bullets and Tyler gets shot with one last bullet on his way to the chopper. He shuffles breathlessly to sit on the edge of the bridge, falling off and ending his painfully depressed life. Only Ovi remained alive- after all, he was the mission! He was taken aboard the chopper and returned to school like any normal boy.

8 months later, Neysa, the boss of the mercenary team, puts a bullet in Amir’s head, murdering him in cold blood.

Here are some interesting cues from the movie:

# Fight, even in your pain

Recently, I learnt something intriguing about the scorpion’s tenacity in Scorpion’s Revenge. How headstrong the scorpion is even in the face of imminent pressure and danger, is worth emulating. It still fights the opposition. It still perseveres despite the enormity of the enemy attacks.

Soldiers are amazingly rugged unrelenting fighters. Tyler was determined to fight his way through despite the pain he felt. Whether it was with a broken arm or a wounded limb, he kept fighting.

Reminds me of what Jesus said: “…be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life…He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” (Revelation 2:10,11).

Paul charged young Timothy to “Fight the good fight of faith…” (1 Timothy 6:12).

# Some memories create the vision for your future

Tyler’s son died at the age of lymphoma at the age of 6. That must have been a very devastating event for him that led him on a spiral slide of depression. In the movie, he kept catching glimpses of his little son on a seashore, apparently playing with him.

I believe that memory created for him a vision of preserving the life of another man’s son. Truth is, Tyler had every reason to bolt when he found out that the mission had been compromised but he did not leave the boy behind. Rather, he went as far as working together with Saju, the traitor who had double-crossed Tyler’s team.

Sometimes, your worst pains (memories of them) can serve as the motivating force for you to make an impact in the lives of others that will make the world a better place. Whatever you have been through or are going through this moment is doubtless a learning curve which you should not despise at all. Learn all you can from it and when the opportunity presents itself, protect the life of that boy who could be another man’s son!

# Wits do not equal wisdom

I was really fascinated by the rooftop scene in which Amir’s right-hand man was trying to catch the culprit who had stolen Amir’s money. So, here are a group of teenagers, obviously homeless and ‘kubolor’ boys, who are terrified at what would happen to them next. The very first one was thrown off the roof. Now, this man was coming to get the next one to dispose him off, like he did the other. “Wait!” the eldest of the boys interjected. Then he went on to say that he knew who had stolen the money. When asked who it was, he said it was the boy who had been thrown off the roof.

Amir was impressed and commended the boy for his smartness. But as always, young people, especially teenagers, will always do something to prove how inexperienced and foolish they are. Later, he went with “his boys” to challenge Tyler with guns and machetes. They ended up “chopping dirty slaps” and nursing broken limbs.

Your smartness does not equal wisdom. Wisdom is a function of maturity and you must receive it from above both in training and impartation. Don’t assume that you are wise merely because of a few commendations from those you look up to. Be humble and learn.

# Sewers can be a temporary hiding place of relief

I can only imagine how that “gutter” as we call it in Ghana stank! Not just any gutter but a gutter in a market! 😷 But Tyler and Ovi had to literally sit in that stinking, rat-infested gutter in hiding and waiting for someone to pick them up. Mind you, Ovi was a rich boy who was accustomed to high living standards. But here he was, hiding in a stinking sewer because his life was all that mattered at that point! He didn’t think of staying in the open to breathe properly.

Sometimes, you may have to be in the sewer to survive for a season. Wait patiently and you will breathe properly soon enough!

# Wealth makes puppets of the mighty

A whole colonel was threatened with the cost of losing his finger, having been told to do the impossible: close down the city! Who was ordering? A wealthy gangster, of course!

If you submit to anybody to receive anything from them, you are likely their slave, and you’re likely going to have to do their bidding always.

At a latter scene, he was again taking orders to send in two units of soldiers to the bridge. He was not really acting in his own authority. He was now merely a pawn on the chessboard of dominion.

# One wrong friend can send you on a course of doom

As already noted, Ovi had been given firm instructions to not go anywhere after school. But then, here he was at the club as a teenager. Why? Because of the influence of one wrong friend. No wonder Paul says, “Be not deceived. Evil communications corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians 15:33). Can you imagine that after taking him to the club, his friend was also trying to lure him into smoking weed?! Insane, right? And that’s the point Ovi was kidnapped.

The scene in which Tyler’s friend wanted to trade Ovi for $ 10 million really taught me that indeed the love for money is the root of all evil. Hmmm! The height of wickedness! No wonder he died at the hands of the very person he was trying to sell off.

Choose your friends wisely. More importantly, choose your counsel wisely.

# One moment of disobedience can turn into two days of displeasure

Simple instruction: Don’t go anywhere after school. But Ovi would not listen! And that’s how come his uncle and Tyler had to pay the price of their lives for his extraction!

Even in lockdown, everybody needs Jesus

Don’t be deceived! Many people have not yet encountered our risen Lord Jesus Christ. And this is mainly because many believers have not taken the Gospel to them. I’m always stirred by the story of Pastor Karen Victor when she went to Bethlehem (just a year or two ago), where Jesus was born. She was on the streets of Bethlehem when she met a young lady and engaged her in a conversation. Pastor Karen asked the young lady, “Do you know Jesus?” The young lady quizzed, “Who is that?” 😱 How in the world would someone walking on the streets of the town in which the Saviour of the world was born not know him?! Well, Pastor Karen told the young lady about Jesus, explaining to her how much the Lord loves her and the young lady surrendered her life to Christ. Not only that, Pastor Karen laid her hands on the young lady and she was filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues on the streets of Bethlehem! Hallelujah!

Do you think everybody has already heard about Jesus? No, they haven’t! And we have a divine mandate to let every boy, girl, man and woman know this amazing Man of Galilee, who is the Lord of All.

Considering the times we are in today, you may not have the opportunity to reach out to somebody out there physically due to restrictions in your nation. But let me share with you some very vital things you can do:

Intensify your intercession

So, you may be at home, bored and all, flipping through TV channels and wishing life was back to normal. But who will make that happen? Is it the government or the health workers? Who exactly will salvage our world today? It is YOU! You are the salt of the earth. You are called to preserve the earth. You can effect changes in our world from your room as you intercede for the leaders, the health workers and those who are lost. You see, the fate of the world rests in your mouth. You must pray. Don’t wait around for things to go back to normal, otherwise before you know it, things would become worse than they already are. Now that you have time on your hands, spend time alone with God on your knees in fervent intercession. Make a list of your friends and loved ones whom you’ve criticised for so long but have never said a prayer for before. Then pray for them. The Lord will hear you and you will practically see changes. Don’t leave anything to chance. This is the time to rise up in fervent prayer day and night, receiving God’s mercies on behalf of those who have backslidden. Call up your spiritual friends and pray together.

Become more conversant with the message of salvation

If you do not have a firm grip on the essence of the Gospel, I advise you to search the Scriptures. Study to know Jesus better and understand who He is and what He came to do. If you want to be effective an a soul winner, you must have the right message- Jesus! So how do you become more conversant with the message of the Gospel? Well, first of all, you need to understand how the Gospel is working in your own life. What has Jesus done for you? In simple terms, He died on the cross for your sins, God raised Him from the dead and you believed in Him so now you have eternal life in you. So you are saved.

Look carefully at John 3:16,17 and you will see that the whole Gospel is summed up in there. If that’s not enough for you, you can go to YouTube and watch a message by Reinhard Bonnke entitled The Blood of Jesus. You can also check out the ‘Meet Jesus’ page of my blog (www.rhemainfocus.blogspot.com) to get the message. On Facebook, you can follow Sandy Amponsah’s posts. Or better still, there is an amazing book by E.W. Kenyon entitled ‘What happened from the Cross to the Throne’. These are all resources that will help you to become more conversant with the Gospel so that you can articulate it well. Now more than ever, we need to share the pure message of God’s grace and love for humanity expressed in Jesus Christ.

Be filled with the Spirit

Ephesians 5:18 speaks of how we should continually be filled with the Spirit. Why is it so important? Because that was the secret of the Apostles in the early Church. They were continually filled with the Spirit. As a result, they spoke the Word of God with boldness (see Acts 4:29-31). So how do you get filled with the Spirit? One of the principal ways is to pray in tongues. As you pray in tongues, you communicate with God directly. Verse 19 of Ephesians 5 says “Speaking to yourselves…” Speak in tongues. He says speak to yourself in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. That’s how to be filled with the Spirit. Speak Psalms, and hymns and spiritual songs. Don’t be singing songs that pollute your soul with demons of lust and impurity. Make melody in your heart to the Lord. Give Him thanks always! As you do these, you are filled with the Spirit and that positions you to effectively witness to other people.

Witness to your neighbours

If you have an 8-5 job, chances are that your main conversation with your neighbours goes this way:

You: Good morning

Them: Good morning. Go and come.

You: Good evening

Them: Good evening. Welcome back.

And the cycle continues week after week, and you don’t even take the time to find out if they have eaten that day, let alone know if they know Jesus.

If you are a student back home, this is your perfect opportunity. Seize it. Engage your neighbours and share the Gospel.

As a worker, now that you don’t go to the office every day, take some slots out of your day and talk to somebody about Jesus. You can still maintain social distancing as you do that. You don’t have to get so close to someone to tell them about Jesus.

You may be thinking that how are you going to reach out at a time when everybody is so anxious. This is why you were filled with the Spirit- to minister hope and life to those around you. Refuse to fear!

I thought the lockdown was so serious that I had not seen the sunshine in some days. But one evening, I walked out my gate to see if I could get something to eat. Behold! People were everywhere. Some were having conversations. Shops were open. Food vendors were there…with people queued up. I thought to myself, “This is my opportunity. I thought I had missed every opportunity to preach the Gospel to anybody. I will take advantage of this to minister to people.” Thankfully, I had been spending extended periods in the Secret Place in the previous days.

A few days later, I went out with one thing in mind: to win souls. Six teenagers were aimlessly chit-chatting in front of a house. I approached them and shared the Gospel with them. Then I led them to Christ. I told them I’d meet them again…and I am looking forward to us winning the whole community. Now more than ever, I see how I wasted opportunities in the past. I’m very sure I used to pass by these same people day in and day out but I was not focused on them because “I had things to do”. But now, things are different!

Win the lost at any cost!

You may not be able to go out but if you live in a compound house, you can go to your neighbour and talk to them about Jesus. If you don’t live in a compound house, simple gestures like cooking food and taking it to the neighbour next door can earn you a conversation. Rise up and take the message out there.

Harness the power of Technology

You may have more than 100 contacts on your phone right now. Are they all saved (no pun intended)? You may have connections on LinkedIn. Are they all saved? You may have followers on Twitter or Instagram. Are they all saved? And what about those who view your WhatsApp status updates? Are they all saved? Do you care at all? Look, this is the time to painstakingly sift through your contacts, followers and Friends on Facebook. Send them a dm. Start a conversation and bless them with the Gospel. Share the love of Christ. Offer to pray for somebody. Don’t share frivolous videos and memes for entertainment only. Stand out as the light in a dark world.

You can harness the power of technology as you also give offerings during Online Services to help in the propagation of the Gospel. Your seeds go a long way alleviate pain and depression and restore hope and life to people.

So there you are: five ways to make Jesus known even in a lockdown. Which of them resonates the most with you? I would love to hear from you. Post a comment below or send me a message on how this helps you reach out. God bless you! Stay safe!

You can FREE yourself

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you (John 15:3).

There’s a strong connection between bad habits and demonic influence; and frankly, they flow into each other. The human person is a spirit, and so, if he has a habit, it’s a spiritual habit. Habits are formed from repetition of actions. There’re good habits and there’re bad habits. If you practise good actions, they result in good habits; if you practise bad actions, they result in bad habits.

Satan often takes the opportunity of bad habits to manipulate people. However, he can’t force his will upon anyone ordinarily; rather, it’s about man yielding himself to the devil or refusing to do so. If he yields himself to the devil, then the devil takes advantage of him. Most people yield themselves without realizing they’re doing it. Hence, walking in the spirit and the knowledge of the Word is vital to a victorious Christian life.

In our opening scripture, Jesus said, “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.” This means the Word of God is a cleanser; it purifies you. If you take the Word of God and meditate on it, it’ll rid you of anything that’s unwholesome or unclean. It’ll eradicate the darkness from your life.

Once, I was ministering to a lady, and rebuking the devil from her, and there was a young man standing behind me among those who were watching. When I was done, he got my attention and said, “Pastor, I used to have the same problem that you just dealt with in that lady. I had those same evil spirits in me.” I said, “So what happened?” He said, “Through meditation on God’s Word, they all left me.” That’s the power of God’s Word!

You don’t need to have deliverance services to cast out devils from Christians; teach them the Word. The Christian is superior to Satan; he’s seated with Christ, far above principality and power. So, if you’ve been under some demonic attacks or influence, if you’d consciously meditate on God’s Word, you’ll free yourself. You can say, “In the Name of Jesus Christ, I break the influence of Satan and evil spirits over my life and my actions and refuse to yield to their sway henceforth!”

I walk in perfection and excellence, producing works and fruits of righteousness, because I live in the Word. The Word of God has the ascendancy in my life and purifies me through and through—spirit, soul and body. I’m sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in my life, who causes me to walk in God’s perfect will and in the glory of God. Amen.

|| John 8:32

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ||

|| Galatians 5:1 RSV

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. ||

|| Psalm 119:9 AMPC

How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to it]. ||

Wealth for Everyday Solution

Give us this day our daily bread (Matthew 6:11).

As a child of God, the government of your country isn’t supposed to decide your prosperity. There’s a higher government—heaven’s government—and you belong in that government. Under heaven’s government, your financial prosperity is for all-time; there’s supply for you every day!

Unlike the governments of this world, there’s no “welfare” system or pension program with God. He’s bigger, and does better than that. He has a glorious plan for your life and has made provisions for your future. You never have to live your life on some pension, charity, or benefit from the government or anyone. The Bible says He has given you all that pertains to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3); all that you need, to require no aid or support. Hallelujah!

God’s purpose is that you’re big enough to help others. He didn’t intend for you to be the one needing help. The Bible says saviours shall arise from Mount Zion (Obadiah 1:21); that’s you and me. We’re heirs of God, and through us He blesses and makes many rich. There’re many around us who are in dire need, and we must heed their cry for help.

We read in our theme verse how Jesus taught His disciples to pray. Part of the content of that prayer format was, “Give us this day our daily bread.” He was letting us know that there’s a daily provision, and your name is on it! The provisions you never claimed have accumulated, waiting for you.

It’s time to lay claims to them. It’s about time you said, “Father, I’m ready; all your daily provisions for me that I never claimed, I receive them now!” Have the boldness to call them forth. Don’t wait to get to heaven and discover there was so much you could have had that you never took advantage of. Claim what’s yours. Your salary or pension or profit from business aren’t your source. God is your source, and He has provision for you EVERY DAY. Praise God!

Thanks be unto God who daily loads me with benefits! He’s made all grace—every favour and earthly blessing—come to me in abundance, such that I’m always and under all circumstances and whatever the need, self-sufficient—possessing enough to require no aid or support, and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation. Hallelujah!

1 Timothy 6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

2 Corinthians 9:8 AMPC And God is able to make all grace (every favor and [a]earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need [b]be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

Romans 8:32 NIV He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

[New Book Alert]: Slaying Dragons

There was a brilliant seventeen-year-old girl who got perfect scores on the Scholastic Achievement Test and a perfect score on the University of California acceptance index—a feat never accomplished before. She was a true genius. But when a reporter asked her, “What is the meaning of life?” She replied, “I have no idea. I would like to know myself.”

The meaning of life stands as history’s great existential question—the object of humanity’s philosophical struggle since the beginning of time. The question has stumped the most brilliant thinkers, and it continues to intrigue both sinner and saint. Yes, even Christians can wrestle with the meaning of life. But they express the issue with far more precision, actually asking two questions: Why was I created? And why was I saved?

As we search the Scriptures, we find that the answer to both questions is the same. When you find the answer to one, you have found the answer to both—and thus to the meaning of life itself.

In this riveting new title by Evangelist Daniel Kolenda, find out how to engage in spiritual warfare.

Rebuke the Adversary

They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera (Judges 5:20).

A certain Pastor was posted to a church for a new assignment; the church hadn’t grown for many years. So, when he resumed, he decided to fast and pray. One day, while he was praying in the church building, he saw a huge animal, a beast, and as he turned to it, the beast said, “I will not allow you take my people from me. I’ve been in charge of this church for many years.” In response, the Pastor said, “They’re God’s people; they’re not your people and you will leave this church today, and never return.”

The animal got infuriated and charged toward him; but unafraid, the Pastor declared, “In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, get out NOW!” The beast fell down, and scampered out of the church, to never return. The very next service, when the people came to church, they worshipped and praised God like they’d never done. It was obvious that there was a new move of the Spirit, and the church began to experience unprecedented growth. The devil had been taken out.

Members of the church didn’t know there was an evil force affecting the people inside the church. But thanks be unto God that the Pastor knew exactly what to do. We’re not to negotiate with the “adversary”—that’s one of Satan’s names (1 Peter 5:8). It tells you something; he is one who withstands you in anything. Don’t tolerate or accommodate him around you; get on the offensive.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Notice that it says, “We wrestle not against…,” not “We wrestle not at all.” Many struggle in life, unable to actualize their dreams, not realizing they’re in a warfare. When the forces are up against you, there’s something behind it. Therefore, use what you have; use the Name of Jesus. Don’t fold your arms and watch things go wrong; operate in the spirit; rebuke the adversary and maintain that which the Lord has given you.

I declare that Satan has no authority or place in my life and in my affairs. The Name of the Lord Jesus has all power and authority. Therefore in His Name, I prevail against all adversaries and adversities.

1 Peter 5:8-9

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Ephesians 6:10-13

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

An Important Factor for Success

Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold (Proverbs 8:10).

Spiritual instructions may come to you in the most unexpected or unusual way, but be quick to carry them out. Proverbs 4:13 says, “Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.” Sometimes, what you need for your next level isn’t so much a “big idea,” as it is heeding a simple instruction.

Consider the Lord’s instructions to Joshua for instance. He was instructed to take over and subdue Jericho (Joshua 6:2-5). From the human standpoint, that was an impossible venture, because Jericho was one of the most fortified cities at the time. But Joshua followed the Lord’s instructions and the result was victory for the children of Israel.

Some people would give anything for secondary factors such as money, human connections and uncertain philosophies in their attempt at success. But they ignore the surest measure for guaranteed progress in life: following God’s Word—doing things God’s way. His instructions convey His wisdom, which if followed would lead to success, victory, excellence and glory.

Realise that in life, your victories are, and would be, entirely dependent on divine strategies given to you by God through the Spirit and His Word. Therefore, consciously practise fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the Word. That’s where you receive His instructions and guidance that put you over circumstances and the adversities of life.

Every instruction of the Spirit is entrenched in the infallible principles of God’s Word. Such instructions may not be spectacular, but they always produce the supernatural. Therefore, always act on the instructions of the Spirit in divine wisdom. When you do, it’ll make no difference the “wall” you’re faced with in your life; it could be the wall of sickness or financial trouble, but they’ll crumble before you. Glory to God!

The Word of God is my life, and His instructions are the meditations of my heart and the force that propel my actions. I’m making supernatural progress as I take heed to God’s Word and do what it says, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Always Pray in the Spirit

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians 6:18).

Sometimes, there’re those who wonder what the Spirit meant when He said through the Apostle Paul, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.” But it’s very clear. Another translation says, “…With every kind of prayer.” He’s saying to you, “I want you to pray with the spirit in every kind of prayer.” In other words, there’re different kinds of prayer. Now, whether it’s a prayer of faith, a prayer of thanksgiving, a prayer of intercession, a prayer of agreement, the prayer of dedication or consecration or prophetic prayer, you’re to add to it, praying in the spirit.

Praying in the spirit is one kind of prayer, but he’s telling us that with all the different kinds of prayer, we should pray in the spirit. Don’t say, “I’m not praying in the spirit today, because I’m praying a prayer of intercession.” We can’t leave out the spirit when it comes to prayers; we must pray in other tongues. That’s what praying in the spirit is; it means that the prayer is coming from the inspiration of your spirit, uttered in other tongues.

For instance, when you want to pray the prayer of faith, you may start by speaking in tongues, before going ahead to release those declarations of faith. It’s like saying to you, “With every food, take water”; meaning whether you’re eating a protein meal or vegetables, irrespective of the type of food, drink water along with it. The Apostle Paul, while communicating this truth to the Corinthian Church, said, “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also” (1 Corinthians 14:14-15).

Take this seriously. Pray always in the spirit, and your life will be so upgraded to enjoy ever-increasing glory. You’ll be vibrant and exuberant with praise at all times; more effective in your Christian walk, and circumstances will be under your feet. Hallelujah!

Dear Father, I thank you for the opportunity and privilege of prayer! Thank you for enlightening me to pray effectively in the spirit. I’m inspired and energized to make tremendous power available through prayer, building myself on my most holy faith, resulting in a life of absolute dominion in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
